What We DoAt Gulfbridge, our mission is simply to help people communicate. Over the years we have been involved in public affairs programming, public relations, marketing and advertising, technical and business analysis, and news publishing. Our expertise includes both verbal and visual communication in all media. With roots in print media and early experience in web publishing, Gulfbridge is actively exploring the opportunities offered by media convergence. Our FounderGulfbridge was founded and continues to be led by John R. Hicks. Mr. Hicks is a native of Louisville, Kentucky, and a 1968 graduate in political science from Stetson University in DeLand, Florida. He has worked as a public school teacher, computer programmer, newspaper editor and publisher, computer consultant, and web developer. |
Our HistoryIn 1995, Mr. Hicks formed Gulfbridge
Communications as a sole proprietorship to provide a business framework
for a newsletter he had proposed for the City of Lake Worth. Liking the
name As a computer professional since 1972, Mr. Hicks had followed the growth of the Internet and was particularly excited by the convergence of hypertext and the Internet with the invention of the World Wide Web in the early 1990s. In 1998, Hicks decided to concentrate his efforts on mastering the communications capabilities of the Internet. In 2002, Mr. Hicks incorporated Gulfbridge, Inc., which continues to use "Gulfbridge Communications" as a trade name. |
